Mosaic Place is a 501©3 located in Glenmoore, PA. Mosaic Place is an initiative and dream brought about by four women – Amy McHugh & her special needs daughter, Ellie, and Nicole Krutzke & Corina Schad who have known Ellie since she was a young girl. The vision and mission of Mosaic Place is to create opportunities for people with special needs, their families, and others to form authentic connections with each other and the broader community, through meaningful work, tending the land, sharing crafts, music, workshops, and celebration of nature and the human being. We purchased our property on August 4, 2021. On the property is a beautiful barn with a finished interior, perfect for our gatherings. Our programs include handbell choirs, concerts, craft, dances, observing and learning about seasonal festivals, meditation times, personal growth and learning workshops. The activities are planned and hosted by volunteers. We offer many free events and collect a nominal fee as needed to help offset the cost of materials. We ensure that people with more limited finances can attend with our “Angel Ticket” option that allows people to pay what they can afford. Mosaic Place is a physical space that offers us the ability to gather with our young adults with special needs. This is a unique offering and much needed as they live sprinkled throughout the area in group homes. Most importantly beyond the activities is the building of friendships and a circle of community for our young people as well as their families and friends.
